Hello,

For the last week I have been doing alot of research on Video uploading and charging the client. Since I wrote the addon the video addon that allows people to have over 200 videos sites list there videos I have been wanting to allow the user to upload video direct and pay for this feature.

But I ran into all kinds of obstacles while I researched this. To be able to upload video it is best if on a dedicated server. But not everyone can afford a dedicated server. So I contacting my server guys and to build this system will cost 450.00 a month. Its a power house server machine. Then we need to have certain programs installed on the server to handle the video compression. Many people upload video in different formats. So you need to have programs to convert this video into one format for all to view it. Which is flash. Now at the same time video takes alot of bandwidth. So the addon has to be wrote where it throttles the bandwidth and more in the video to save the person money on bandwidth.

As you can see I have been doing my home work. To write and addon of this size and then offer support with all the different server configurations would be just crazy. The cost you would have to charge for such addon would not make it worth the time of doing it. As each one of these obstacles has present itself to me I have had to solve each one.

I myself need it that is all there is to it. I want to charge for video as I feel this will make money on my sites. I have some of my users getting around my old video addon. On my sites I only allow 1 photo and no domains or emails. I have users adding there youtube videos and in the videos listing there domains. LOL good marketing and gave me quite a giggle.

Henry Ford hired 100 of the laziest works one time and watched them to build a better assembly line. Well geomodules don't just write addons we use them and test them on live sites we run ourselves. This is just one example on how it has helped us to make better addons.

Now at the same time I have chatted with alot of you. Many need training and training is not cheap. Marketing is not cheap. Those who have experience have learned by spending money and loosing it the hard way. I have talked with clients who have paid SEO experts 3000.00 a month for little results and more in marketing costs. I love training people and really wish I could do it FREE! I find it so cool when I train someone and see there sites grow. They are so happy at the results in the end. Of coarse the end being making money.

Well I have given all this alot of thought. I have come up with a FANTASTIC idea where its a WIN WIN for us all. At the same time saving all of us MONEY and costs of ADDONS. :)

Monday the server is being built to my specifications.... 1 week after moving my sites to this server and testing you will be able to sign up and host with us.

So the amazing question is this is alot so what will hosting cost? Hosting will start at 50.00 bucks a month. Bandwidth will be the most concern with video but from checking my sites the average geodesic site and new user should be fine with this. if more is needed I have had the server designed where you can move up in small levels saving you money.


SERVER INFO
Now the average shared server runs 300 to 500 users on one server. Which to be quite honest is WAY TO MANY. This creates slow downs. I do not going slow. I will limit the amount of people on server assuring it maintains the speeds it needs. I can always have more built keeping the servers fast. For those who do not know me I do not have my servers at home that would be crazy. LOL I have had some ask me that. My server company is http://www.hivelocity.net and there building is amazing. At the same time I have experts available 24 7 if I need them with a cost of 65 and hour of coarse. :) So you know your in good hands.

This is the only draw back. Support will be there but not 24 7 as you see on other hosts. There will be 2 people who will offer support. Myself and a good friend of mine who I have been training for over 1 year now. You will meet him in the seminars. Hes a programmer like myself. Now we will have a forum where you can help each other. On average I expect you can get support 10 hour or more a day. We are both up at different times so it is very possible you will have live support most of the time. To make this affordable with main idea concentrating on the server and the site this is the only way to do it. If you have to start paying people to sit for 24 7 the hosting costs would be thru the roof. Now you will ask well how do these other companies do it. Simply really they offer hosting to the WORLD and put to many people on 1 box. They do it by numbers.... Where the geodesic community is small compared to the world. Other then this there is no other draw backs. :)

So get yourself on the list and start saving money today..... Lets do this together and learn from each other and give those big sites a run for there money.
